Seven puppies, one very determined one.
Panda’s story began on a cold December day when she and her six siblings arrived in our care, tiny, weak, and fighting to survive. Their mother, an emaciated dog named Seven, had nothing left to give them.
Panda then faced a second obstacle. She was born with a severe cleft palate, which left her unable to nurse and struggling with pneumonia. A puppy who cannot nurse has days, not weeks.
Volunteers fed her around the clock through a tube, using lifesaving medical equipment this community paid for, until she was strong enough for surgery to repair her palate.
Today she is a happy, healthy dog. Living proof of what love and a community can do between them.
